Reading
You are encouraged to read for at least 15 minutes everyday. Once per week, fill out the Reading Record to let us know about your reading. Don't forget to read the responses from other students to get ideas about new books to try.
Spelling
You must complete all of the set activities in Spelling City for each week. There is a pretest, some activities and games, and a final spelling test. You can do one activity each afternoon or two or three in one afternoon and then finish them on a second afternoon.
The spelling words this week are focused on letter patterns using the "oul" and "eigh" patterns. Other words that we need to practise have also been included.

Mathematics
There are more activities set for you in Study Ladder this week. One activity will revise the Make 100 strategy that we practised last week. The remaining activities work with the multiples that we have been studying in class.
Writing
This week will be our second go at entering the 100 Word Challenge. I hope we gained a lot from the feedback we got last week, and have also learnt more about writing by reading some of the entries from other students in our school and around the world.
Don't forget to have a look at the entries that were selected for the showcase for Week 23. Reading good examples of writing will help us to improve also.
